Matariki Event

We welcome all to come join us for a hot pool and star-gazing session to celebrate Matariki. 

Start your morning with a one off Matariki soak at Ōpuke Thermal Pools (limited availability) followed by a sight seeing Karakia experience at Mt Hutt.

Weather permitting, we will get you to the summit to enjoy Matariki from one of the best viewing platforms around. We welcome the Matariki celebrations with a karakia (Māori incantations and prayer used to invoke spiritual guidance and protection). Catch the surrounding views at 2086m as the sun comes up. 

Schedule 

• 5:00-6:30am: Exclusive Ōpuke Thermal Pools Matariki Star Gaze session (use of both Discovery and Tranquillity pools, towels not included).
• 7:30am: Summit Six Matariki sight-seeing experience and karakia. 

Additional Details: 

• Access to the hot pools will be via the Discovery changing rooms. Tranquility changing rooms and bar will not be accessible
• Use of both Discovery and Tranquillity pools
• Towels not included
• Transport between Ōpuke Thermal Pools and Mt Hutt is not included in the package, you must arrange your own transport. Please ensure you check the snow report before travel.
